Stonhenge Clock

A very innovative and creative idea to design a clock by Steve Norris. This clock inspired from the ancient Stonehenge, is a very different stuff that we all not used to see at homes.

The clock “Stonehenge” named after it’s inspiration source, consist of a robotic arm and 14 numbered cards that allow the robotic arm to show the time. The robotic arm puts the cards in a circle like the original stonehenge, and replaces the card it needs to rearrange the clock.

There are two digits on each card, the software chooses the card to use and sends the necessary commands to move the arm. The arm takes the cards that needed to be changed and puts them in the specific place on the circle, that each card has.

However this clock has some disadvantages. If you watch the video below you can see that it takes just a little bit than a minute that the arm changes two cards. This is a little bit annoying. It would take to change 4 cards (for example at 23:59) more than a minute.

For some people this clock might be very “geek” tough it is a very creative idea.
